CLASS DESCRIPTION

Little Chefs:
Part 1: Healthy Chefs
The food pyramid is a thing of the past! We will begin by teaching your child about the five basic food groups using the USDA’s most up to date programming entitled “Choose My Plate.” This interactive approach teaches children how to select and create well-balanced meals rich in fruits, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy. Each week your child will have the opportunity to prepare and taste a new healthy recipe.

Part 2: International Chefs
Take a tasty trip around the world! As each culturally diverse recipe is introduced, the children will gain a better understanding of the rich culinary traditions found in other parts of the globe. Cooking is also a wonderful way to teach valuable skills such as counting, measuring, and following directions. Delicious destinations will include: Italy, India, France, China, and more!

Part 3: Story Chefs
Goldilocks tasting the Porridge, The Little Red Hen working tirelessly to prepare a tasty loaf of bread for her friends, wondering what would happen If You Give A Mouse A Cookie…..so many of our beloved storybook memories provide us with an opportunity to follow our favorite characters into the kitchen! Your child will join us in preparing and sharing tasty treats that remind them of their favorite imaginary tales including: Strega Nona and the Magic Pasta Pot, Pete’s Pizza, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie….and more! Cooking is also a wonderful way to teach valuable skills such as counting, measuring, and following directions.

Our studio space and all recipe selections are nut and seed-free.
